Dustpan for Mac · Last updated 15 October 2026

Dustpan collects no data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no accounts. Nothing about you, your Mac or your files leaves your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

To find app leftovers, caches and large files, Dustpan reads the names, sizes and dates of files in the folders you allow. Its undo history and settings are stored on your Mac, inside the app's own container. None of it is sent anywhere.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase.

Cleaning rules

The rules Dustpan uses to recognise app files are built into the app and are updated with app updates. The app does not download anything else.

Reporting a wrong match

If you choose Report Wrong Match, Dustpan opens a prefilled page on GitHub in your browser, with your user name and home folder removed. You decide whether to submit it. GitHub's privacy policy applies there.
