A file was matched to the wrong app

Right-click the row and choose Report Wrong Match. It opens a prefilled report on GitHub that you can read and edit before sending; your user name and home folder are removed. You can also open an issue directly. No GitHub account? Email the app name and the file's location to the address above.

Something moved that you wanted to keep

Dustpan only moves items to the Trash. Choose Undo Last Clean in the app, or open the Trash in Finder and use Put Back. Nothing is gone until you empty the Trash.

Restoring your purchase

Open Dustpan > Settings > Purchase and choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. Family Sharing is supported.

Why does Dustpan ask for my home folder?

Mac App Store apps can only see folders you choose. Dustpan needs your home folder to find app leftovers, caches and large files. It reads names, sizes and dates; it never uploads anything.
